Belgian network software and services firm NetVision NV has signed a deal with British Telecommunications Plc’s Belgian subsidiary to offer remote network security management to BT’s customers. The firm has launched Online Guardian, a service that offers customers the chance to have NetVision remotely monitor firewalls, such as those in BT’s IP network in Belgium.
The two firms say the combined offering will encourage the growth of e-commerce by allaying the security fears of companies that wish to sell over the internet. One of BT’s customers, described only as a well-known industrial player, has already signed up for the services of the partnership, which is expected to continue to the development of future products and services. Guardian Online offers a 24/7 monitoring and management of a corporate LAN’s perimeter.
