BricsNet NV, the Belgian supplier of design software and online services to the construction industry, has paid an undisclosed sum to acquire Bouweb, a leading business industry portal in the Netherlands. The move is part of its ambition to build a worldwide network of country-specific portals for the industry, which will provide an opportunity to promote its own software. Mid-term figures show BricsNet made a loss of 2.9m euros ($3m), down from a profit of 27,000 euros ($28,610) on revenue 47.1% higher at 1.7m euros ($1.8m). The company raised 16.5m euros ($17.4m) when it floated on the Easdaq market in June.
