International telecommunications company Cable & Wireless Plc, has boosted its presence in India with a partnership with Indian Telco Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. In a deal approved by the US government VSNL is to supply network services for C&W’s global managed data X.25 and Frame Relay services. The first region to be served will be Bombay, with extension to other key Indian cities throughout 1998. C&W is rapidly expanding its international data services, having already signed up eight countries in the last six months.
