A German court ruled that Samsung Electronics can continue to sell its Galaxy Tab 10.1N tablet PC in Germany, rejecting Apple’s bid to ban it.
The Dusseldorf court said in a ruling that Samsung’s reworked tablet PC did not look like a copycat version of the iPad.
The court said following the design changes undertaken by Samsung, the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1N does not contravene competition law.
"Apple’s iPad computers and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1N are rival products of equal value," the court added.
Earlier in November, the same court had banned the sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany, saying it copied the iPad.
In April last year, Apple had accused Samsung of "slavishly" copying its iPhone and iPad through its Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets and sued the South Korean company in several countries, including the US, Australia, Japan and in Europe.
Meanwhile, a court in Mannheim, which had ruled against Samsung in cases concerning two of the patents, and is to decide on another one on March 2.
