Chinese-language portal operator China.com Corp has opened a Japanese office for its Web Connection internet consulting unit, strengthening its existing consulting business and online advertising presence in Asia’s largest internet market. We look forward to strong business growth in Japan in the coming year, both through organic growth and through establishing further strategic alliances, said Peter Yip, chief executive of Hong Kong-based, Nasdaq-listed China.com.

China.com already has ties in Japan through a relationship with trading company Mitsui & Co Ltd, which is one of its major shareholders. It is also already conducting internet consulting work for several Japanese companies, including sports shoe maker New Balance Japan, The Oxford University Press and Shikosha, an international children’s book publisher.

China.com’s now has 17 offices in 10 Asia-Pacific countries. This serves to reinforce our increasingly strong presence across the region, which gives us an unrivaled opportunity to serve both local and multinational clients in Japan, said Yip. China.com is aiming to provide a complete service by building e-commerce strategy and solutions for clients through Web Connection, distributing content through its portal network and selling services through its online advertising subsidiary 24/7 Media Asia, Yip said.
