Swedish IT services company Salcom AB has acquired Westerberg Datakom and Westerberg Polska, a Warsaw-based IT services outfit with operations in Poland and Denmark for an unspecified sum.
Salcom marketing director Gregory Singh said his company specializes in network security, management and integration, and has been on the expansion trail for just over a year, with the Baltic markets as its prime targets.
It acquired an IT company called Finternet Oy in Finland in 1998. Then its main shareholder, the Bure group, bought another Finnish outfit, Santa Monica Software Oy, which was also merged with Salcom.
Singh said the company plans a stock exchange listing next year, probably in Stockholm. Alhough no detailed financial figures are yet available, Singh said Salcom had revenue of SK640m ($77m) last year. He added that Westerberg had revenue of $7.25m in 1998.
