San Francisco-based start-up i-drive.com, which gives web users storage space on its own servers, has launched a custom version of its service within MP3.com Inc’s web site. I-drive users can sideload files to their own personal folders on the i-drive servers. The deal with MP3.com is supposed to encourage them to copy digital audio files as well as graphics and scanned photographs. To encourage MP3.com users to sign up for their own i-drive folders, i-drive has doubled its ordinary account size from 25 to 50MB. Those who’ve already signed up for their 25MB can apply for an upgrade to 50MB through MP3.com.
