Japanese toy giant, Bandai Co plans to enter the portable games machine market with the autumn release of a pocket machine priced at $30 to $40, company sources told the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. It appears that the machine will compete in the same space as the Nintendo Game Boy. The company is expected to offer a choice of 20 games in the first instance, priced at around $20. The machines are said to have a 2.5 inch monochrome liquid crystal display screen and double the visual processing capacity of the Game Boy. Sales are said to be forecast at around three to four million to March next year.
