US-based e-commerce outsourcing company Digital River has introduced white-labelled global enterprise app stores to their flagship Global Commerce enterprise offering.

With new enterprise app store offering, enterprise software publishers can generate incremental revenue by selling their own apps and the app purchasers can enjoy an enhanced product experience where they can select from a robust catalogue of apps while maintaining a direct relationship with the publishers of the apps they buy.

In addition, third-party apps directly to customers via their own device-agnostic, branded app store and third-party app developers, publishers can gain increased global distribution through the global enterprise app stores.

Furthermore, the enterprise app store partners can also leverage Digital River’s cloud-based subscription billing and commerce capabilities to help drive app store success, allowing them to immediately offer their customers a wide range of recurring billing terms and more than 20 global payment methods.

The enterprise app store offering also extends Digital River’s existing global app ecosystem, which currently includes in-app purchasing technology and app lifecycle optimisation services.

Digital River CEO Joel Ronning said with the addition of global enterprise app stores to Digital River’s app ecosystem, Digital River can offer the enterprise software market a lucrative alternative to the current model.

"Publishers who tap into one or more components of our app ecosystem can gain access to multiple ways to distribute, monetize and optimize apps themselves. This enables them to increase profitability upfront and over the long term, as they maintain direct relationships with shoppers," said Ronning.
