Inacom Corp, the Omaha, Nebraska-based IT services provider, has reported second-quarter net income down 47.7% at $6.2m on revenue down 21% at $1.46bn. Earnings per share for the quarter dropped 46.2% to $0.14, matching the First Call consensus estimate. For the six-month period, the company reported a net loss of $142m on revenue down 19.7% at $2.82bn, compared to net income of $28.6m, or $0.63 per share, last year. Six-month results include $217m in one-time charges related to the Vanstar merger and other corporate restructuring activities. During the quarter, the company says it reduced worldwide head count by 1,000 to 10,800 and decreased base payroll by more than 10%. It also completed 36 planned branch consolidations and closed 15 storage sites, saving about $7m annually in rent.
