LHS Group Inc, the acquisitive Atlanta, Georgia telecoms software developer, has taken a $10m equity stake in Athene Software Inc, and signed a worldwide distribution agreement covering the Boulder, Colorado’s APT family of billing and related products. Athene bills itself as a developer of innovative internet-based customer relationship management suites for telecoms companies, mobile operators and ISPs. Its expertise in data mining, machine-learning models and advanced statistical techniques are cited as being the chief interest of LHS, which offer the APT products alongside its established BSCS and Targys billing packages and other telco accounting products acquired with priority Call and InfoCell earlier this year. LHS executive VP and chief technology officer Jon Limbird will join the board of Athene.
