Kodak will invest approximately US$120 million in a Latin America-wide initiative, and the first of its kind in the Brazilian market, to bring numerous innovations to consumers in the area of photography. The partnership is the first in a series of agreements to be signed between Kodak and broadband service providers, to reach and connect the 1,600 licensed Kodak Express stores throughout the country.

The network of licensed Kodak Express points of sale will have high-speed Internet access through a corporate version of Vírtua, Globo Cabo’s broadband service. The interconnected stores will be equipped to offer a series

of digital services to their customers.

Customers will be able to deliver image files for processing at any one of the Kodak Express stores located in thousands of cities throughout Brazil and the world for delivery (on paper, CD or diskette) to family and friends. In

addition, customers will be able to use the Internet to share and edit the photos.

With this partnership, customers in Brazil will have more opportunities to share photos with family and friends thanks to the distribution channels offered by Kodak Express stores, which will be interconnected by Globo Cabo

and Vírtua technology, remarked Jaime Cohen, Manager of the Consumer Division for Kodak Latin America.

The market is becoming increasingly aware of the importance of high speed (broadband) connectivity services, such as those offered by Globo Cabo, added Fernando Mousinho, Director of Corporate Networks for the Company. Our deal with Kodak is a typical B2B2C (business-to-business-to-consumer) application. We realized that there was a demand for image delivery among the Kodak Express stores. More importantly, by using Vírtua, there was a significant reduction of 90% in the transmission time for 24-exposure film, without any impact on

quality. It is a solution through which both businesses and consumers can enjoy the benefits of this new technology safely and quickly.

Globo Cabo will provide the high-speed connection (256 kbps) through an extensive network architecture composed of fiber optic, coaxial, radio and satellite links. Through this platform, Kodak will significantly expand

the connections between its Kodak Express stores in Brazil in an effort to provide exclusive, borderless digital imaging services to its customers.
