Compaq Computer Corp’s Digital Unix chaperone Tim Yeaton yesterday revealed the company is building source and binary compatibility with Santa Cruz Operation Inc Unix into Bravo Unix running on IA-64. Compaq hasn’t exactly said any of this in public yet, but Yeaton says the objective is to make Bravo Unix a more attractive platform to potential partners by enabling a level of application interoperability between the two. He said Bravo OEMs that either use SCO as well, or those that meet SCO in the channel, will be able to leverage application interoperability.
