SmartForce also announced the expansion of its reach in the Asia-Pacific region through three additional agreements in Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, with an aggregate value that also exceeds one million dollars. SmartForce now has a presence in 15 separate Asian countries.

In China, under the first agreement with NEUSOFT, one of China’s largest software companies, SmartForce will deliver e-Learning on IT and business skills to students of NEU-DOIT (Dalian Oriental Institute of Information Technology, Northeastern University) and employees of Neusoft. Neusoft selected SmartForce for its content and platform, in addition to SmartForce’s ability to provide students with multiple educational opportunities that are available anytime and anywhere.

Under a separate agreement, SmartForce has designated LANSOL Technologies, a leading network integration company, as an exclusive distributor of SmartForce e-Learning in Vietnam. Similarly, iKnow will be the exclusive distributor in Thailand and MTS will distribute SmartForce e-Learning in the Philippines. These solutions will be built using SmartForce’s e3, the underlying application architecture that supports all e-Learning elements or objects. These objects include instructional content, multimedia workshops and seminars, real-time mentoring with subject matter experts, advanced simulation and assessment capabilities. e3 enables enterprises to deploy learning solutions that are specifically targeted to address their business requirements.

The agreements with LANSOL, iKnow and MTS follow other SmartForce e-Learning distribution agreements in Hong Kong and Malaysia, reinforcing SmartForce’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The expansion of SmartForce e-Learning in Asia is made possible through its e-Learning infrastructure that scales to worldwide audiences and SmartForce’s leadership position in the industry. With the addition of these three agreements, SmartForce now delivers e-Learning to Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and India.

SmartForce is a proven e-Learning provider experienced not only in the development of e-Learning technology but also in understanding and meeting the learning needs of individuals and global enterprises, said Dr. Liu Jiren, chairman and CEO of Neusoft Group Ltd. SmartForce’s scalable infrastructure and leading-edge technology address the enterprise’s need for a truly global e-Learning solution. SmartForce was the only organization that could provide localized and personalized learning solutions on such a global scale. Organizations throughout Asia and the Pacific will greatly benefit from learning solutions with the power to help organizations realize their business goals.

The demand from Asia continues to be strong and in order to leverage the growing opportunity there, we focus on securing the best partners in the region, said Greg Priest, chairman and CEO of SmartForce. Furthermore, the investments we have made in localizing SmartForce e-Learning into nine different languages has put us in the position of having, by a significant margin, the strongest global presence of any e-Learning company.
