The addition of SilverSolutions expands SilverStream’s ability to deliver eBusiness solutions globally and also provides a base to service the high-growth IT market in the Peoples Republic of China (PRC). The new company, SilverStream Software (Beijing) Limited, is to become a wholly owned foreign enterprise and subsidiary of SilverStream Software, Inc.

This acquisition adds to SilverStream’s Asia-Pacific presence by augmenting the company’s offices in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, and distribution partners in Japan and Korea. SilverStream’s PRC customers come from a diverse range of industries and include such industry leaders as: China Motion, China Unicom, Dalian Petrochemical, Datang Telecom, Goldensoft, Guangzhou Telecom, Bureau of Industry & Commerce, Institute of Electrical Power Science, Qilu Petrochemical, Shandong Publishing and Taikang Insurance.

SilverSolutions is a strong organization with significant experience in selling and building solutions based on the SilverStream platform in PRC, said Dave Litwack, president and CEO, SilverStream Software, Inc. The SilverSolutions team will play an important role in helping SilverStream serve customers and partners in PRC by providing localized support, training and technical expertise. Additionally, with PRC poised to play a role in the World Trade Organization (WTO), SilverStream believes it will be well positioned to take advantage of PRC’s projected high growth rates for software and services spending.

SilverSolutions has been the premier business partner for SilverStream in China for the last two years and we are very excited to be joining one of the world’s leading companies in eBusiness software and services, said Li Yuanming, CEO, Beijing SilverSolutions Software Corporation. SilverStream’s platform is one of the few solutions to provide complete support for multiple foreign languages, including double-byte character support for Asian languages – this is an important feature for customers. Our in-depth experience with the SilverStream eBusiness Platform will help our combined companies deliver a wide range of complete eBusiness solutions to the rapidly growing Chinese market.

SilverStream has worked closely with SilverSolutions for several years to deliver a number of key eBusiness projects with strategic customers in China, said Roger Durn, vice president, Asia Pacific, SilverStream Software. The acquisition of SilverSolutions will help expand the global scope and reach of SilverStream’s eBusiness sales, service and support capabilities.
