Unveiling the new product range marks an step for Nokia, announcing its entry into the last major cellular market in the world where the company has not been present with its mobile phones until now. The Nokia 8887 and 8877 will be available nationwide in Korea in the second quarter of 2001.

Korea is the third biggest mobile phone market in the Asia Pacific region after Japan and China, and one of the most developed mobile communication markets in the world, said Matti Alahuhta, President, Nokia Mobile Phones.

Nigel Litchfield, Senior Vice President for Nokia Mobile Phones Asia-Pacific said, The CDMA launch in Korea today signifies an important step in Nokia’s overall focus on the Korean market. Nokia has been active in Korea with manufacturing and R&D activities invested here over the years.
