This new acquisition gives us immediate access to new products and markets, said Charles Jacobs, Group President, Wireless and In-Building Products, but more importantly, we gain a world-class design team with proven experience in developing commercial GPS solutions for the global market. GPS antennas made by Micro Pulse are currently used by Hertz for its national rental car fleet. Micro Pulse also supplies telematics antennas to QUALCOMM, Inc. for the OmniTRACS satellite-based mobile communications and tracking system.
Micro Pulse has manufactured antennas for US GPS receivers and telecommunications companies since 1989. Micro Pulse antennas can be found in airborne, vehicle tracking, marine, surveying, and asset management related products and applications. In 2001, Deloitte and Touche named Micro Pulse as one of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in Los Angeles.
It is anticipated that the majority of Micro Pulse’s employees will become employees of Andrew Corporation.
