The new company has begun trading as Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications; the brand name will be Sony Ericsson.
The company has been established specifically to target the mobile multimedia market.
The initial agreement was signed on August 28 then, on September 11, the boards of both companies announced that their respective boards had approved the mobile phone joint venture.
