Ken Bloom, Director of Distribution Sales for Maxim and Dallas Semiconductor, commented on the consolidation: It was clear after Maxim’s acquisition of Dallas Semiconductor in April of this year that the two companies
were collectively selling through too many distribution channels.
Both companies felt that we would benefit from fewer distributors with increased focus on selling the combined product lines.
Bloom continued: We believe that this consolidation will increase
efficiencies for the many end customers who want to order products from both
Maxim and Dallas Semiconductor.
Maxim and Dallas products will also be distributed for small-volume
transactions via catalog/Internet distributors Newark and Digi-Key.
Maxim Integrated Products is a leading international supplier of quality analog
and mixed-signal products for applications that require real world signal processing.
