Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly asked both sides in the case to rank their competing proposals. The judge wanted Microsoft’s lawyers to say whether they would accept some of the least onerous state penalties. However, Microsoft’s lawyers refused to concede any ground during the case’s closing arguments. These closing arguments come after two months of testimony.
Judge Kollar-Kotelly has to decide whether to issue sanctions against Microsoft as punishment for breaking antitrust laws in the 9 US states. The case is not expected to be resolved until later this summer.
