Just one year after the introduction of its 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card, SanDisk has introduced a 200GB card dubbed the Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition.

The card can be used in mobile devices, as the company has improved the storage capacity by 56% within the same architecture of its predecessor.

SanDisk used the same proprietary technology of the 128GB card for the creation of the new 200GB card.

SanDisk VP Dinesh Bahal said: "We continue to push technology boundaries to deliver record-breaking solutions that transform the way consumers use their mobile devices.

"By focusing on achieving new capacity and speed milestones, we are able to deliver trusted mobile memory solutions that give consumers the freedom to never stop capturing, saving, or sharing – with the benefit of fast speeds to transfer it all quickly."

The company also upgraded its Memory Zone app, which is expected to facilitate users to have greater control over their mobile device’s memory storage.

With the Memory Zone app, users will be able to connect to the OptiMem app feature, which warns users when the internal memory falls below a user-defined threshold.
