Today’s announcements, terms of which were not disclosed, include:
A new agreement with Delphi Automotive Systems Corp., the world’s leading manufacturer of mobile electronics and transportation components and systems. Under the new agreement, EDS will augment Delphi’s program to deploy an ERP system based on SAP software across its North American divisions. This deployment is in support of Delphi’s objectives to improve responsiveness to market conditions and customer requests.
A six-year extension and renewal with Philips Semiconductors to continue to provide complete Information Technology (IT) outsourcing services including server, desktop, applications and telecommunications support to its wafer fabrication facility in Albuquerque, N.M. The agreement will allow Philips Semiconductors to gain additional efficiencies and cut IT costs.
An agreement with SSP Solutions (SSP) to host, deploy and manage SSP’s Trust Assurance Network, a network of hardware devices enabling Internet security from server to user, providing solutions and services that secure access control and real-time movement of financial transactions and other valued digital content. US$400 Million in Announcements
EDS has announced US$400 million in contract signings this week. On Wednesday, EDS announced a US$250 million contract with Bumiputra-Commerce Bank (BCB) to build and manage the technology infrastructure for EPIC-I, BCB’s new financial IT and back office processing subsidiary.
The agreement represents the largest IT outsourcing contract in EDS history in Asia. In addition, it marks the largest-ever outsourcing contract in Malaysia and the first-ever such agreement in the country’s banking industry.
