As part of the partnership, Lineo has been selected as one of the inaugural members of the ARM DevZone(TM) program (ARM Supports Partners and Developer Community with Launch of DevZone Web Site, Apr. 10, 2001). As an ARM DevZone Linux partner , Lineo will collaborate closely with ARM at an engineering level to develop ARM-optimized versions of Lineo OS technology, including Embedix, uClinux and RTXC.

Lineo recently began shipping Embedix SDK 2.0 that includes support for the ARM7(TM) Thumb(R) and ARM9(TM) Thumb families of microprocessors. Lineo also plans to support the ARM10(TM) Thumb family of microprocessors as it becomes available.

ARM is a very strategic processor platform for us, said Bryan Sparks, CEO, Lineo, Inc. Our partnership is a natural extension of the embedded Linux development and integration that our two companies have already accomplished. Customers are demanding solutions for the ARM family of microprocessors and we’re providing them with those solutions today. This partnership will ensure greater product integration and collaboration which will benefit our mutual customers.

The ARM DevZone program extends our support for the rapidly growing Embedded Linux community and creates a collaborative environment in which key third-parties can work directly with our internal ARM Linux engineering group, said Rod Crawford, director, Third-Party Software Products, ARM. We welcome Lineo to the ARM DevZone program and look forward to a strong relationship that will provide significant benefit to the Open Source Community.
