The company will complete the transition into a proprietary software company. It has retained its proprietary PowerCockpit server provisioning software, under which it plans to launch a new company name and business model. Management will remain under CEO, Ly-Huong Pham.
About 70 employees will be transferred to SRA, which has also appointed the former president of Turbolinux Japan, Koichi Yano, as the president and COO of the new Turbolinux, while Hajime Watanabe will be the CEO.
According to SRA, Turbolinux will continue to operate a US office, but will transfer its headquarters from Brisbane, California to Tokyo, Japan, where it will focus on strengthening its position as a major Linux distributor in the Asian market.
