In a contract worth around GBP130 million, Syntegra’s first task will be to provide new internal networks and 7,500 computers for the council’s employees as well as delivering new personnel and payroll services.
In the longer term Syntegra and Essex County Council will be working together on a comprehensive programme of work to transform all aspects of the council’s business.
Dave Musson, Syntegra’s director in the government sector, said: I am delighted that Essex has chosen Syntegra to help realise its vision. This important and public declaration of confidence in us strengthens Syntegra’s position as a market leader in joined-up government initiatives which link local authorities, land and property registries, health and central government.
Syntegra is BT’s consulting and systems integration business.
