LINX membership and Level 3 Communications co-operation means faster connection time to the Net across the UK and Europe

NetBenefit, the Internet Solutions Provider, has joined LINX the London Internet Exchange. The move will mean that Internet users logging onto sites hosted by NetBenefit will experience significantly faster access, and benefit from a highly resilient, advanced network infrastructure.

In an additional move to improve throughput, quality and overall bandwidth capacity of the NetBenefit network, the company has added Internet connectivity from Level 3 Communications IP transit services.

Joining the LINX network will give NetBenefit servers faster connection through direct links with all major European Internet players. In order to qualify for membership, NetBenefit fulfilled all LINX organisational and technical criteria including all good practice requirements.

LINX, an alliance of over 120 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) enables Internet traffic within the UK to be exchanged easily, through improved interconnectivity and service. It also promotes the interests of its members and the UK Internet industry to the international community.

As one of the UK’s most established Internet service companies, we intend to keep our network expanding ahead of our user base, said Jonathan Robinson, CEO of NetBenefit. We’re committed to contributing to the UK Internet industry and its development through our involvement with LINX.

The impressive list of peering agreements that we’ve achieved will not only increase the quality of service and speed of access for Internet users throughout the UK, but also Europe, he continued.
