HP has agreed to accredit Progress Software’s app development suite as it seeks to deploy the tool to HP Helion OpenStack.
Progress Rollbase aims to help developers cut down on their time to market, with a drag-and-drop interface intended to quicken the creation of cloud-based apps.
Bobby Patrick, chief marketing officer at HP Cloud, said: "The addition of Progress and its ecosystem of millions of developers, ISVs (independent software vendors), and end users is a critical endorsement of HP Helion.
"Together, HP and Progress help CIOs deliver on the benefits of cloud computing, by enabling their developers to spend more time coding and less time worrying about infrastructure resources – all while maintaining control and protection of sensitive company data."
Accreditation from HP follows an extensive period of testing to ensure the app can scale and be deployed across multiple environments, including private, public and on-premise.
Karen Tegan Padir, president of application development and deployment at Progress, said: "Faced with constant market disruption from newer players, businesses need to be ever more innovative.
"But with application development using traditional tools taking six months or longer, the market has already moved on by the time the application is ready to go?leaving businesses behind the curve.
