This software integration will enable users of the GeneExpress Suite to export and import gene expression data and annotations as well as to conduct analyses using GeneSpring software.

GeneSpring is a desktop gene expression analysis software tool used by scientists conducting DNA based microarray and biochip experiments to view and analyze their results. The product readily accepts data from various sources including common array/scanner vendor image analysis programs, databases via ODBC links, specified URLs, Excel or other spreadsheet programs, as well as annotations from GenBank, LocusLink and UniGene. Results of analyses can be exported to external application programs or stored for sharing with colleagues in data repositories such as Silicon Genetics’ new web-based GeNet(TM).

We are especially pleased to be working with Gene Logic, an acknowledged leader in gene expression databases, said Andrew Conway, president of Silicon Genetics in a media commentary. The integration of our GeneSpring software with Gene Logic’s GX2000(TM) data mining and analysis software interface enables our mutual customers to take full advantage of the gene expression data present in the GeneExpress(R) Suite.

As a part of our business strategy to maximize the accessibility and utility of our GeneExpress Suite, we are pleased to establish a product integration alliance with Silicon Genetics, a company with market leading products focused on gene expression analysis, added Victor Markowitz, senior vice president and chief technology officer of Gene Logic. The GeneSpring software will provide valuable additional data mining and visualization capabilities to the GX2000 interface and will directly benefit all users of our GeneExpress Suite.
