At an industry conference organized by Indian IT trade body Nasscom, ministers from the Eastern provinces detailed incentives such as tax holidays and easy availability of land, which they hope will woo private sector investment and help develop their economies.

States such as Assam, West Bengal and Nagaland, vied with one another to detail their high levels of education spending and literacy as well as their existing e-government plans. Mizoram also pitched its large English speaking populations while Assame highlighted its improving law and order situation.
