Under the agreement, Trend Micro has given SatelliteSafe access to its TrendLabs virus update server, ensuring SatelliteSafe has secure and instantaneous access to virus updates as they are generated – SatelliteSafe will then beam these updates to the its corporate clients within minutes, avoiding any delays which may occur through the Internet. The Internet inherently suffers from bandwidth problems, causing severe delays to the delivery of virus and content filtering updates.

Satellite technology will enhance the speed and accuracy at which updates can be delivered.

Under the agreement SatelliteSafe will make the service available to all Trend Micro customers in Europe, including ISP’s and ASP’s. A typical cost of the service for 1000 users will be GBP9.00 per user per year. SatelliteSafe will support Trend Micro customers who have Trend Virus Control System (TVCS), InterScan VirusWall or e-Manager.
