There is much debate within the industry over whether H3G will be able to meet its planned 2002 launch targets in the UK and Italy. While the new entrant’s network is likely to be finished on time, many commentators believe there will be no handsets available.
Motorola believes it will sell a few million 3G handsets this year. It remains to be seen whether the company or the doubters win out.
