Fintech startup Curve has received $2m in funding from Transferwise co-founder Taavet Hinriku, Betfair’s Ed Wray, former members of the Google Wallet team, and Rick Knox of Tandem.
The funding comes without the company publicly revealing what it’s product is.
Other VCs involved are SpeedInvest, the Mayor of London’s’s London Co-Investment Fund, and Seedcamp, according to Techcrunch.
The company is thought to be operating in the payment and loyalty space, and says it will not be issuing a card, despite displaying one on its website.
As well as having backing from significant fintech players, the company’s founders also have strong credentials.
They include Israeli serial entrepreneur Shachar Bialick, Tom Foster-Carter, the former COO of children’s banking fintech company Osper, and Anna Mostyn Williams, who formerly did UK marketing for the Xbox.
The product is currently in Beta, and the firm says it will welcome its first users in early 2016.
