Software and hardware provider Emerson Network Power has teamed up with HP in an effort to help customers reduce inefficiencies in their data centre infrastructure.

The deal will see Emerson integrate its data centre infrastructure management technology, the Trellis platform, with HP’s converged management framework. It will also feature HP’s data centre management consulting services.

The collaboration aims to give IT managers awareness of data centre capacity, providing oversight across both IT and facilities to gain better operational efficiency and continuity.

"HP is a worldwide leader in the data center and operations management space, and our two companies have had a successful software partnership for more than 10 years," said Enzo Greco, VP Emerson Network Power’s Data Center Solutions.

"We are proud to extend that relationship by partnering with their Converged Management Consulting Services to help data center managers solve persistent challenges and improve their business results."

Rick Einhorn, VP of HP Data Center Consulting, added: "The Trellis platform from Emerson Network Power combined with HP’s Converged Management Consulting capabilities allows clients to reduce inefficiencies in their data center infrastructure without disrupting their existing operations.

"It also allows us to better integrate the DCIM system with software-defined IT platforms, such as HP OneView, making the operation between facility and IT seamless."
