Enterprise volume licensees will be able to get their hands on the software in October this year, a month before Vista becomes available in volume licenses, the company said.
The announcement capped off of turbulent week for the company, which announced Tuesday that a few extra weeks of development time would push the completion of Vista into a time window in which it would be difficult for all its channel partners to launch in time for Christmas.
Two days later, the company announced a restructuring of its Platforms & Services Group, which included the appointment of Office boss Steve Sinofsky as the new head of the Windows division.
