Characters and symbols found in German but not ASCII, such as the umlaut, will be supported.
The internationalized domain name standard, Punycode (a play on Unicode, the character set that includes virtually every alphabet on the planet) is now finalized, and supported in Netscape, Mozilla and Opera browsers.
Internet Explorer support will likely be added before long.
