Arche is the French division of the Omnetica Group, which was taken over by Kingston Communications (Hull) Plc in December 2004. The disposal of Arche follows on from the sale of PRES SRL, Omnetica’s Italian operation, in March 2005 through a management buyout. Affiniti, the network services company formed by Kingston and Omnetica, now operates solely in the UK.
Paris-based Arche employs approximately 360 people and recorded revenue of 95m euros ($119.3m) for the year ended September 30, 2004. The company’s major customers include Societe Generale, EDF and Total.
Telindus forecasts that the acquisition will add 18% to its 2004 revenue of 532m euros ($667.8m), and that the combined annual revenue of Telindus France and Arche will be 160m euros ($200.8m).
Some 72% of Arche’s business is generated in Paris, while Telindus France conducts about 60% of its business outside the capital, mainly focusing on Lyon and Marseille.
