To achieve this Endeca is simplifying integration of its Information Access Platform with popular BI tools, allowing users to find, explore and analyze key metrics and reports and combine disparate data and content sources.

Clarabridge, which is headquartered in Reston, Virginia, develops Clarabridge BI Search, a technology that enables users to query enterprise BI content using an intuitive search interface.

The terms of the deal means that Endeca will effectively become a reseller of Clarabridge’s BI Connectors for Business Objects, Cognos and MicroStrategy applications. The Connectors index data and reports managed by these BI tools, making them accessible to Endeca searches.

Endeca said the integration of technologies will unlock greater value from existing BI investments and exposing them to a wider audience of users.

Matt Eichner, vice president of strategic development at Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Endeca said the partnership with Reston, Virginia-based Clarabridge is part of a strategy to extend the benefits of BI to a wider user audience

Teaming with Clarabridge creates an out-of-the-box capability to incorporate BI data and reports into a broader enterprise information access strategy, said Eichner.

Endeca hopes the integration will kick start a the deployment of new generation of self-service BI applications targeted at the masses of business users, rather than a handful of specialist BI tool users that is typical in many organizations.

Endeca is privately-held and has companies like ABN Amro, Bank of Merica, IBM and John Deere on its client roster.
