Scottrade enables customers to place trades online through its web site and through its ScottradeElite platform for active investors. The FioranoMQ enterprise messaging product will be used to connect elements of the company’s system, namely the IBM iSeries mainframe and Dell PowerEdge servers, to increase the reliability and speed of transactions.

Fiorano said its product’s High Availability (HA) feature will give the firm’s infrastructure a fault tolerance capability to ensure that servers continue to operate during intermittent network or machine failures.
Scottrade is also deploying the program to develop a new screen for its programming staff that will offer a select feature set. It is hoped this will simplify the alternatives for developers and reduce the chance of errors.
