According to the companies, third party administrators (TPAs) that license the TPABenefits Web Solutions can now include the online Healthwise Knowledgebase for their registered plan members and dependents. Members can log on to the site to access plan documents, prescription information, claims and Healthwise medical topics.

TPABenefits said its Web Solutions is designed to mine data from a TPA’s existing benefit software program and present the different data needed by multiple end-users. The addition of the Healthwise Knowledgebase in the member-facing side of the application provides people with a one-stop benefit and health information resource. When members access processed claims online, they can click on the claim, which is linked by diagnostic (ICD-9) code or test and procedure (CPT) code, and pull up the relevant health topic in the Healthwise Knowledgebase.

People want to be smart health care consumers and need complete and trustworthy information to do so, said Healthwise COO Gene Drabinski. Bridging claims information and relevant medical content provides more convenient service to members so they can be engaged in their health and health care choices.
