Integration between the two environments should help reduce the time it takes for .NET developers to build and deploy .NET applications on Oracle Database 10g for Windows, due in the middle of this year, as developers can write .NET stored procedures without having to write PL/SQL commands. Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio.NET is due for released during the second quarter.
Oracle ships beta .NET tool
In a continued sign of togetherness, Oracle yesterday released a beta version of its planned plug-in for Microsoft's .NET developers targeting Oracle Database 10g. Announced in December, the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio.NET is a plug-in to Microsoft's Visual Studio.NET 2003 Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
