The San Mateo, California-based company said that Tripos Inc and Zero Delta are the latest firms to join its new Powered by Composite OEM network.

Tripos provides drug discovery and informatics products and services and will integrate Composite’s EII data engine in the next release of its Smart-Idea offering to ease integration with wider data sources on the fly.

Zero Delta meanwhile will tap the EII capabilities to support its Enterprise Alignment Software (EAS) helps companies align strategy with operational performance. Composite’s technology will be included as part of Zero Delta’s OnDemand software.

EII (also called data federation) refers to a type of data integration scheme that lets companies pull together and query disparate information at source using an intermediary metadata layer that does not require data to be physically moved to a single data repository first.

Composite’s products are optimized for embedding and include features such as a small footprint, easy embedded installation, and a metadata API that allows the core engine to be used without the standard design tool. In addition, the program offers:

Composite said an increased need by ISVs and hosted and outsourcing service providers to integrate its EII technology have prompted the company to formalize its OEM initiatives.
