Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 from the Boulder, Colorado-based ISV comes with a new feature, Comprehensive Removal Technology, CRT, which the company describes as an adaptive recognition capability that disables spyware programs detected on a system PC, rendering them ineffective.

The reason such technology is required is that some spyware can detect when something is trying to remove it and will call home to download new multiple versions of itself before the anti-spyware software has had a chance to completely clean it from a system. CRT can sense when processes and apps are trying to change during a sweep and disables them. Using CRT, Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 assures system stability during and after the spyware removal process, said Webroot.

CRT boasts an extremely low false-positive rate of about one in a million. By adding CRT to our anti-spyware arsenal, Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 becomes the only corporate anti-spyware solution to effectively detect and remove the most malicious pieces of spyware, said David Moll, CEO of Webroot.
