The companies said the partnership enables the two companies to leverage sales and marketing channels, and promises to add value for customers looking to manage and govern policy in their service-oriented architectures (SOAs) using legacy mainframe applications.
Infravio has extensive experience working with Fortune 1000 companies on Web services implementations and has assisted companies in the design and build-out of SOAs, said Joe Ganem, CEO of GT Software. Organizations worldwide are under tremendous pressure to reduce total cost of ownership and fully utilize existing IT investments. Many of these organizations are using GT software to enhance return on their legacy assets via web services.
GT Software and Infravio said they offer seamless integration of Ivory-generated web services description language (WSDL) with Infravio’s Ensemble, said to be a web services management suite built on what it calls Web Services Delivery Contracts. The integrated products are available immediately.
GT Software integrates mainframe data and applications into client/server and web applications using ODBC, JDBC, Java 2 Enterprise Edition and web services. Founded in 1982 and still privately held, it says it has over 2,000 installations worldwide. Fellow privately held Infravio’s management suite, meanwhile, enables web services asset, delivery, and operations management. It features Web Services Delivery Contracts to control and manage web services providers and consumer applications across the entire lifecycle, the company claimed.
