Lizard Squad is launching a range of criminal service as it seeks to recover from a recent spat with rival hackers Anonymous, according to the group’s website.
Foremost among the releases is Shenron, a tool to allow customers to "securely purchase drugs" and have them shipped to their home, akin to the online black market Silk Road whose founder Ross Ulbricht was convicted yesterday of drug trafficking and money laundering.
The hackers have also promised an SEO and spamming service to help customers "gain popularity with ease", and will continue to offer their flagship product Lizard Stresser, a tool for launching distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
The announcement comes after the group’s websites and social media accounts were taken down by Anonymous Protection, following complaints from gamers over Lizard Squad’s repeated attacks on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
"We made a promise to our followers that we would get rid of the scum known as Finest Squad and Lizard Squad," Anonymous Protection said on Twitter, referring to Lizard Squad and another group of hackers which emerged at the end of last year.
The takedowns comes as Twitter has become more proactive in suspending accounts seemingly owned by Lizard Squad, who tweeted with impunity through much of December.
In spite of the setbacks both Lizard Squad appear to have maintained a presence on social media and the web, with new accounts readily appearing to replace old ones and service repeatedly restored to their various sites.
