The French company said the deals, which all run over five years, will focus on revitalizing the management of the application portfolio, the workstation and its environment, and operations and associated support.
Atos Origin’s contract, valued at $402.4m, will cover the maintenance and development of Renault’s application portfolio.
According to the agreement, Renault has signed a $236m contract with Computer Sciences Corporation to provide infrastructure management services, including network, midrange and mainframe support to Renault sites in France and Spain.
The $150m contract with Hewlett-Packard will enable the IT company to manage the everyday management of Renault’s workstations and their environment.
Additionally, Renault said it has reorganized its Information Technologies and Systems Department (DTSI) with a view to rationalizing and simplifying information systems in the Renault group and modernizing relationships with suppliers.
The announcement comes after the Renault group launched an initiative in 2003 to prepare the in-depth transformation of the company’s IT and systems function in line with the Group’s growing international dimension. The automaker has already established technological partnerships with Cisco, Dassault, IBM, Microsoft and SAP.
Renault hopes the multi-million contracts will help it to pursue innovation in the core processes in the automotive industry and to improve the skills of its staff.
