Google SVP of Knowledge, Alan Eustace, is reportedly retiring from the company this March following a reshuffle in Management last year.

In October 2014 numerous divisions of Google, including Eustace’s research operations, were centralised under Sundar Pichai.

Alan Eustace joined the search company in 2002 as the SVP of Engineering and later moved to Knowledge which included search, which now has its own separate SVP-level executive, Amit Singhal.

Eustace also contributed towards Google maps.

Prior to joining Google, Eustace was associated with Digital, Compaq and HP’s Western Research Laboratory.

Other executives to leave the search giant includes Andy Rubin, who was known for contributing towards Android, and Sebastian Thrun, cofounder of Google X "moonshot" products and technology, who left the company to focus on his startup Udacity.

According to reports, Google is presently focusing more on mobile, video, driverless cars, and cloud-based services in an attempt to expand its reach beyond search which was the core business of the company when Eustace joined.

Tech Crunch reported that Google’s search market share in the US, excluding mobile, slumped below 75% amisd gains for Yahoo.
