Sun is working with the three services vendors to present a set of porting services, which include pre-migration business and environmental analysis using a data center calculator created by Sun. This calculator is presumably the one that Sun showed off at the Galaxy server announcements last summer.
Having sized up the factors that are involved in a migration from AIX, HP-UX, or Linux to Solaris 10, Sun gets its cut of hardware, software, and services related to them, and Satyam, Tata, and Wipro get to attach the application layer. As part of the agreement with Sun, Wipro has extended its 17-year agreement with Sun to become what Sun calls a global migration partner.
