Integration with the Remedy Action Request System workflow provides a common interface that will enable customers to seamlessly transfer trouble tickets from their Remedy Help Desk systems into PlanView’s enterprise-wide IT project portfolio management software, the vendor said.

The term EPM is used to describe software designed to concurrently manage multiple IT projects, resources and assets and embraces project management, resource management and utilization rates, professional services automation and portfolio analysis.

Its purpose is to provide a framework within which projects and their constituent elements can be valued in terms of their risk or benefit to the organization, and assessed in terms of their relationship to other projects and available resources, to enable prioritization in relation to business initiatives, and to ensure appropriate funding allocation.

Last year, systems and performance management vendor and BMC rival Compuware Corp paid $100 million in cash for Changepoint Corp for software that monitors and manages people, projects, resources or applications and which competes in the market with PlanView.
