Samsung BCS calls the offering its OfficeServ IP-Centric Wireless LAN, comprising the AP (with support for 11a and 11b/g), its WIP-5000M Wireless IP handsets and the gateway interface card.

The offering extends Samsung’s VoWLAN offerings beyond the enterprise market, where last October it launched OfficeServ Wireless VoIP as an app to run on its iDCS 100 and 500 IP PBXes, as well as on the OfficeServ 7200 platform. The SMB offering does not require the presence of an IP PBX from Samsung, or from any other manufacturer. The media gateway interface card enables a normal PBX to route the traffic to and from the AP on the LAN.

Samsung said it could not comment on the price of the offering because it is entirely channel-focused so the VARs set the price.
