Under the terms of the deal, SBS will design and integrate broadcasting technology systems at BBC Scotland’s new center in Glasgow, which is due to open in 2007. The systems will cover digital production and post-production operations, presentation facilities, and digital libraries.
The contract is an addition to the 10-year outsourcing deal SBS signed with the BBC in October 2004, which involved the privatization of BBC Technology Ltd and its rebranding as Siemens Business Services Media Holdings Ltd.
